Perspectives On Kazakh’s Words About Horse And Their Culture Meaning

Kazakh is not only a nomad with a long history, but also famous for the name of “the horsebackpeople”. Over their long history course, the Kazakh people created a unique grassland culture, horse plays adecisive role in their life, it is not only a production tool, but also a consumption goods. Kazakh peopletreat the horse as the pillar industry of social economic and social life, they use it in transportation, war,hunting, migration, entertainment, food etc. They have the same fate with this livestock. Horse plays animportant role in Kazakh people’s survive and thrive.For they have the horse, so they can Gallop in thevast grassland. The Kazakh people accumulated a lot of experience and knowledge about keeping horse. Intheir language, there are a lot of words about horse, in their life they also formatted a unique animalhusbandry culture in their long horse breeding culture. This paper focus on the words about the horse andtheir culture meaning, that is to say, this thesis not only study the horse from the perspective of Linguisticsbut also research it from its culture role.Language is the carrier of culture, by studying a nation’s language, we can understand the nation’scustom，their way of life, their thinking characteristics. For words are the most active part of language, sofrom a nation’s word system we can know more culture phenomena. So, firstly, this paper focus on thespecial words and idioms about horse, and deeply analyze these words, reveals their culture meanings,structure characteristics and their culture connotation. In order to the further studying of this field, thispaper also analyzed Kazakh’s culture of horse.This thesis divides into three parts. The first part is the introduction. In this part, we explained thepurpose and meaning of this research, the nation of Kazakh people and their culture situation and therelationship between grassland culture and horse.The second part is the main body, it divides into three parts.The first part summarize the specialwords and idioms about horse and classified them into several kinds, discussed their culture meaning. Thesecond part is the about structural analysis and physical study of these words. The third part is about theKazakh’s horse culture, and their customs and habits, at the same time, we also studied Kazakh’sfolklore about the horse, their traditional horse training techniques, their way of choosing horse and theirgallop skill and horseback entertainment, here we also classified horse gear, introduced these gear’smaterial resource, and horse’s meat and horse milk.The third part is the peroration, in this part we summarize the mainly content of this thesis.In brief, Kazakh people’s horse culture is a main part of their traditional culture, it is a preciousnon-material cultural heritage. Today, with the spurt progress of science and technology, along with thearriving of information age, and the further expand of globalization, Kazakh’s horse culture suffering agreat challenge, it is at the brink of extinction. So, try to rescue, protect, inherit and utilize this outstandingnon-material cultural heritage not only have a great social significance, but also have huge economicbenefit.
