A Bite of China, a popular series of Chinese food documentaries, has a wide overseas market. In this project, I make a mock interpretation of the first two episodes, under the guidance of relevance theory, I overcome three difficulties in this interpretation:(1) The difficulty to interpret special cooking ways and origins immediately.(2) The difficult to interpret local food and explain Chinese slangs properly to audience who lack the background knowledge in a short time.(3) The difficulty to organize interpretation language of local interviews with oral redundancy or omission. This report provides three interpretation strategies for more Chinese food documentaries interpretation:(1) The interpreter should build the word bank of Chinese cooking ways and special food origins and be familiar with Chinese food and relative knowledge to find the best relevance through predicting;(2) Faced with proper nouns and Chinese phrases, the interpreter should use literal interpretation plus explanation to help foreign audience understand it;(3) The interpreter should know the context and background deeply. Then he can integrate and simplify the language to avoid word redundancy. When some of the meaning is omitted, the interpreter should analyze the context and add words to make the audience understand better.
