With the advent of the21stcentury, the trend of globalization becomes more and moreprominent, and the position of interpretation becomes stronger and stronger. As theinterpretation performing more and more like the commercial activity, the interpretation, asone of the branches of information industry, has gradually been on the professional path. Itmainly presents as the following aspects: the interpretation research has constantly deepenedin its breadth and depth and the research classification has been increasingly detailed.Among those types, foreign affairs interpretation in college, as one kind of interpretationtype, has played an important role in strengthening cultural exchange and developmentbetween China and foreign countries. The content of foreign affairs interpretation in collegemainly concludes the interpretation in foreign guest reception, special session, visiting andexpedition, friendship activity and the daily life. The quality in policy perception, workingcompetence, speech and deportment of foreign affairs personnel will directly influence theimage of the school even the country. Therefore, analyzing the difficulties in foreign affairsinterpretation, research and solve the frequent mistakes have become one important andurgent work in strengthening foreign affairs interpretation level.The thesis takes foreign affairs interpretation in college as the starting point, introducesthe whole interpretation content of the visiting itinerary of University of West Scotlanddelegation, and analyzes the difficulties and solving methods of the interpretation. Firstchapter introduces the pre-interpretation work, interpretation plan and interpretation strategy;the second chapter elaborates the glossary preparation work; the third chapter describespost-interpretation assessment and feedback; the fourth chapter introduces the backgroundand quality of the interpretation; the fifth chapter analyzes the problems and difficultiesduring the interpretation process. It can mainly classify in misinterpretation, cross-culturalawareness and long and difficult sentence; the sixth chapter elaborates the specific solvingmethods and strategies of the problems. Finally the writer gives the conclusion of the thesis.Besides the above, there is a text appendix of the original interpretation content in the thesis.
