| In terms of sinology in foreign countries, Russia, which is one of the earliest countries studying Chinese modern literature, has been a major part in this field. Fedorenko, one of the earliest scholars who studied Chinese modern literature systematically, was a famous sinology expert in the period of The Soviet Union, and his scope of research was wide, especially prolific in the field of Chinese literature study. Fedorenko’s book, The Panorama of Chinese Modern Literature, was the first work systematically elaborating the development of Chinese modern literature. The publish of this book aroused the attention of the Soviet Union academic field towards Chinese modem literature. The book The Panorama of Chinese Literature and Chinese Literature History is a more detailed work in content, based on The Panorama of Chinese Modern literature. This thesis is intended to organize and evaluate Fedorenko’s research of Chinese modern literature by consulting these two works. Meanwhile, the thesis aims to present the features of his study, and compare it with Yao Wang’s The Historical Scripts of Chinese New literature to tell the similarities and differences between the two. This thesis consists of three chapters:The introduction of this thesis introduces and explains the reason and meaning of choosing the subject, along with the status, methods and weaknesses of the study. Meanwhile, this thesis organizes the domestic and foreign study circumstances about Fedorenko. The first chapter is the collection of Fedorenko’s lifetime and his research of sinology. The writer carefully reviews Fedorenko’s lifetime and his academic research, and highlights his academic authority on Chinese modern literature in the Soviet Union by the depth and range represented from his research. The second chapter analyzed of Fedorenko’s research of Chinese modern literature history. The writer arranges the contents about the research of Chinese modern literature history in the book The panorama of Chinese modern literature and the book The panorama of Chinese literature and Chinese literature history, in comparison with Yao Wang’s The historical Script of the New literature on the concept of literature history, the choice of two authors, the periodization of literature history and the narration of literature history, pointing out and commenting on the similarities and differences between the two authors in literature history, and confirmed Fedorenko’s historic position and practical significance on literature history. The third chapter analyses and rearranges the researches about the highlighted authors such as Lu Xun, Guo Moruo and Mao Dun in Fedorenko’s Chinese modern literature history. The writers organizes Fedorenko’s analyses and comments about the authors’ideas of writing, characteristics of arts and some works, and displays his achievements of deep research to Chinese modern literalists, and presents Fedorenko’s distinguished vision of studying Chinese modem literature. The peroration works as a summary of the thesis, summarizing the features, new ideas and shortcomings of Fedorenko’s research of Chinese modern literature. |
