English is a universal language, whether as a native language or a foreign language. It is recognized asa general business language and be used in various countries with different attitude, showing differentfeatures.A recognized conclusion is that the recognition degree of a national language is the reflection of itscomprehensive national strength. For example, American English is originated from English, but it has beenforming its own unique pronunciation, spelling and sentence expression characteristics during the process ofusing. Along with the development of the comprehensive national strength, the spread of American Englishin the global is no less than British English. With the rapid development, China has played an increasinglyimportant role on the world stage. Meanwhile, more and more Chinglish words become hot social issues.Chinglish was usually regarded as a kind of wrong English expression and being laughed at. However,under the background of the Internet and social media developing, Chinglish has got a quick spread,replication and recreation. Chinglish is not only spread quickly in Chinese circle but also abroad. TheseChinglish words were adopted and replicated by foreigners. For example, the popular word "ungelivable"appeared in2010, and "No Zuo No Die" was created in2014. Today Chinglish is popular and high frequencywords in the Chinese informal communication scenarios. From ridicule to popularity, the future of Chinesestyle English is it possible to like American English and British English to achieve recognition around theworld? This is a topic worth to study.As a special language variant, Chinglish has a long history and shows a distinct characteristic of times.There are several researches about this language phenomenon from different perspectives. The paper usesmemes theory as theoretical background attempt to figure out the developing trend of Chinglish under thecontext of Internet culture. Based on the characteristics of meme theory, the paper makes a furtherinvestigation of the cause analyses, linguistic feature and development of Chinglish. The paper indicates thatthose Chinglish which have been accepted can be considered to be strong memes. Their characteristics satisfythe criteria of replication. After assimilation, maintain, expression and communication these four stages, itcan be noticed, understood, accepted and used by people in daily communication.Finally, the paper uses comparative analysis approach to analysis similarity and characteristics between Chinglish and American English. As findings, under the under the Memetics theoretical analysis, this paperpredicts the future of Chinglish probably be next American English.
