A Study On The Resent State And Trends Of Development On Shenzhen’s Graphic Design

In spite of the birthplace of Chinese graphic design, Shenzhen is window of the Chinese reform and open policy. By the end of2008, Shenzhen as the first city of China to become a UNESCO awarded "the City of Design", there comes greater opportunities and challenges for the design industry of Shenzhen along with the reputation of the title. The research and development of Shenzhen’s graphic design industry is not only conducive to the development of graphic design industry of the whole country, but also has a reference to the development of graphic design in other cities of China. This thesis elaborates the starting and growth of Shenzhen’s graphic design through analyzing the background of Shenzhen, and reviewing Shenzhen’s reform process of30years. The In-depth analysis will focus on the policy support, infrastructure, upgrading and adjustment of the industry, graphic design education and the training mechanism regarding design talent, then summarizing the industry status of the development of Shenzhen’s graphic design industry. This study take the approach of a questionnaire to investigate the influence of Shenzhen graphic design among the citizens, then get a more intuitive understanding of the development of Shenzhen graphic design through data analysis. Finally, explore the practical programme and the trend of development of Shenzhen graphic design, through the comparing to development of other cities of design in the aspects of policy support, strengthening of cross-cultural, industrial upgrading and the brand awareness of local culture.
