Changbai Mountain, characterized by primeval forest, volcaniclandform and vertical landscape, is one of China’s top10mountains and astate5A-class tourist sight. It is also a famous tourist resort in the world.Tourism of Changbai Mountain is developing fast and attracts more touristsfrom home and abroad. The author did a consecutive interpreting on“Guide’s Speech of Changbai Mountain” in his part-time. The report, takingthe live consecutive interpreting as an example, introduces the task,procedure as well as final achievements.The thesis consists of four parts, namely, the task introduction, processdescription, case analyses and practice conclusion. Firstly, it mainlyintroduces the whole process of this consecutive interpreting practice,including brief introduction, task specification and expectation effects.Secondly, it describes the procedure of consecutive interpreting practice,including preparation before interpreting, related materials and accessibilitytools and on-site situation. Thirdly, it takes some concrete cases as examplesand analyses them in detail. In the process of interpreting, the author appliessome interpreting skills consciously, such as amplification, omission,conversion, syntactic linearity and so on. Meanwhile, the author alsosummarizes the problems during interpreting, including note-taking, false interpreting, information loss, disfluency. Then, the author makes aself-evaluation. Fourthly, it makes a conclusion on the consecutiveinterpreting practice and puts forward some suggestions and inspirations thatcould be used in future study and work. This interpreting practice is finishedby the author himself,which improving his ability and gets some experience.Meanwhile, the author hopes this report could help interpreters deepen theircognitiveness in consecutive interpreting and gives reference to relativeinterpreting activities.
