With the rapid development of Chinese economy and society, the career of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages has also developed fast. As an important part of it, textbooks get the attention of scholars as well, and the study on them is becoming more and more. Similarly, language and culture has very close relationship. As the carrier of culture, language is also an important part of culture, so the relationship determines that culture is inevitable in teaching Chinese as a foreign language. They are interdependent and can promote each other. Therefore, the language in textbooks is bound to reflect the corresponding culture. However, based on the current research results, related studies on the compiling of cultural factors in textbooks is not thorough, so it is very necessary.In view of this, this article will base on scholars’study as the foundation, and use the method of data statistics and interview, and take the series textbook Reading China as the example, hoping to discover some related issues about compiling cultural factors in textbooks for teaching Chinese as a foreign language, and to provide some useful suggestions. The full article is divided into four chapters.The first chapter is introduction. This part mainly introduces the meaning and method of the research, analyses and discusses the scholars’study on the compiling of cultural factors in textbooks for teaching Chinese as a foreign language, and the related study of Reading China, in order to interpret the further significance of this study.The second chapter is about the statistics and analysis of cultural factors in Reading China. Based on the classification standard of Chen Guanglei, Lu Wei and Liu Xun, this part mainly makes a scientific classification of cultural factors, and counts the cultural factors in Reading China on this basis, and then analyses and discusses the statistical data, at last discusses the advantages and possible disadvantages of the cultural factors choreography.The third chapter is the presentation of cultural factors in Reading China. This part mainly describes the three ways to present cultural factors in Reading China, and they are through texts, cultural tips and the name of one book and the cover design. Then we will describe and analyze the three ways in detail and find advantages and possible disadvantages of the presentation of cultural factors in Reading China.The fourth chapter is about some suggestions given to the compiling of cultural factors in Reading China. According to the results of the above study, in this part, we will give some advice for compiling cultural factors in Reading China, hoping to facilitate the use of the book.The appendix part is the interview of Mr. Zhu Yong, the editor of Reading China. In the interview, Mr. Zhu Yong gives solution to the problems associated with the article, and puts forward some useful advice. And the content is also featured in the body of the article.In general, on the basis of scholars’ study, through the statistics and analysis, the article systematically discusses the selection and presentation issue of cultural factors in Reading China, and puts forward a few suggestions according to this, hoping to provide a little reference for compiling cultural factors in textbooks for teaching Chinese as a foreign language.
