The emergence and development of western music and religious music all has the close relation,the requiem as an important religious music genre, from produce to the present, form, content, styleand other evolving, from into the ritual music, from no instruments chorus evolved into a still, soloand chorus of accompaniment.Verdi, as one of the most important opera composer in the19th century, he wrote in his lateryears of the most representative of the requiem, the work performance is not little, but theunderstanding of its artistic form and spiritual common enough. The author hope that through theirown research can have a deeper cognition on the work, and extended to the western Christiantradition, requiem genre and its cognitive development in the19th century.The full text is divided into four chapters: the first chapter is introduction. The second chapterrequiem genre and reflect the Christian idea, mainly from the requiem to illustrate the basic structureand development. The third chapter is analysis of verdi’s requiem, first of all, this paper introducesthe creation background of "requiem", and then on the work of the whole structure are analyzed inmore subtle, tonality, harmony, orchestration, singing style, theme throughout, the grasp of themusic mood, etc. To recognize the verdi’s "requiem" is based on the traditional innovation anddevelopment. The fourth chapter: from verdi’s "requiem" cognitive verdi’s spiritual world andartistic characteristics.
