In March 2013 when witnessed the 80th anniversary of the founding of Party School of the CPC, Xi Jinping pointed out, "Traditional Chinese culture is extensive and profound, so learning and mastering the essence of various thoughts can contribute to set up one’s correct world outlook, the outlook on life and values." Lao Tzu, the founder of Taoism, represents distinct humanistic idea, values and dialectical thought, which have been deeply affecting us so far. This article is settled on the humanistic thoughts of Lao Tz, under the guidance of the socialist core value system. With the insistence on taking the essence and discarding the dregs of the basic principles, combining with the reality of contemporary ideological and political education background, this paper tries to explore the conjunction point between Lao Tz’ humanistic thought and the contemporary ideological and political education, so as to extract essence from the classic and put into practice in the contemporary ideological and political education. First and foremost, as to the theoretical significance, it enriches the content of contemporary ideological and political education, by supplementing the ideological and political education connotation. Lao Tz’ thought contains profound philosophy, and the "people-oriented" theory can be seen as unprecedented. Secondly, in terms of its practical significance, humanistic thought includes a unique variety of teaching methods. Take the most outstanding concept of the "inaction" as an example, which still has practical significance in the contemporary ideological and political education work. Meanwhile, the personality training methods and philosophy of life can also be adopted as effective complement to contemporary ideological and political education and teaching methods. In addition, it plays an important role in improving the contemporary ideological and political educational system, as well as to build a people-oriented harmonious society. With an integrating methodology of literature research, comparison research, comprehensive analysis, system analysis, this thesis develops the research of contemporary implication of Lao Tz’ humanistic thought in the ideological and political education mainly from the five aspects. Firstly, through the research of Taoism belief--"saint often acts unintentionally, but only caring for people’s concern", it extends to consider the subjectivity of education; Secondly, based on the analysis of life-esteem concept of "to prolong life means auspicious", the thesis searches for the conjunction between education and life; Thirdly, through the interpretation of the ecological thought of "the Taoism follows nature", it approves that humanistic ideas can be put up for reference in the ecological civilization education; Next, through the parsing of nurturing consciousness method--"emerging from Taoism, sustained by moralism", the thesis combs the specific application of Lao Tz’ moralism thought in cultivating talents. Lastly, through the dialectical analysis of the staffing skills-- "While I do nothing, people make it", the paper extracts Lao Tz’ "laissez-faire" strategy and further enlightens the implicit education. In a word, through the comprehensive analysis and study, the research suggests that Lao Tz’ humanistic thought shows essential theoretical and practical significance of contemporary ideological and political education, and provides a strong inner motivation for not only developing and fulfilling the ideological and political educational system, but improving culture soft power, stimulating the positive energy of society and realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation-- "China dream" as well.
