There are many universities in xi ’an. With enrollment expansion of colleges and universities, the university campus expansion speed, which makes the university campus space can not be looked down upon in the city. Because managers did not pay enough attention to the construction of campus environment guide depending on the system, and in comparison to the guide system of business, transportation and tourism in the city, the systematic, indicating function, regional culture and human nature of the campus environment guide depending on the system are relatively backward and deficiency, campus environment guide depending on the system is a part of the University Identity System (UIS), it is not only playing a directive role in campus environment, but also be more conducive to maintaining the image of colleges and universities and increasing the brand competitiveness of colleges and universities. First of all, from September to November,2013, the author took a field investigation to13universities’ campus environment guide depending on the system in xi’an, and analysis the status of xi ’an college campus environment guide depending on the system;Secondly, according to the field investigation, and combined with correlation theory and successful case domestic and overseas, the author put forward design principles for improving the xi ’an college campus environment guide depending on the system; Finally, in order to verify the rationality of the design principles, the author chose Taibai campus of northwest university as the object, combined with regional culture in xi ’an and history, culture, environment and traffic elements of colleges, to design a new guide system. It serve as the reference to other colleges and universities to set up campus environment guide depending on the system, and comprehensively enhance the brand image of colleges and universities.
