Ludwig Van Beethoven(1770-1827) is acknowledged as one of the best three giants in Vienna with Haydn and Mozart. And he is also a musical saint. The Piano Concerto No.4 in G minor is the most lyrical one in his five piano concertos and heroic spirit was interspersed in the bright tunes. This symphony was composed in 1805 by Beethoven when he was experiencing turbulent times, The influence of humanism on Beethoven has been embodied in his music creation. The creation of this piano concerto has been divorced from the creation mode of other composers in the classical period, and which was be endowed with new features:the competition between the piano and the orchestra; The music starts with the piano playing the theme instead of the introduction of the orchestra; the short space of the second movement; the end movement uses only one theme for creation.These creative techniques broke the tradition of the creation of classical, and fully demonstrated Beethoven’s extraordinary talent.This paper choose Performance Interpretation of Piano Concerto No.4 in G Minor as topic, which aim at carefully grasp Beethoven’s artistic style which appeared in his works. Combining the musical analysis and artistic style for this work, the author carefully analysed this work’s skills of performance which lay a good ground for presenting this work, and which could better express the tough and go forward spirit by Beethoven’s music language, with infinite longing for a better life.With the Performance Interpretation of Piano Concerto No.4 in G Minor as the main point, the author combined with Beethoven’s music style and creation background, made a comprehensively analysis on this every movement musical form and analysis of works, lateral tied to specific performance, combined theory with practice, and made a specific analysis on speed change, intensity control, ornament and the application of pedal when we play it.
