The Comparative Study On The Image Of Python Guth And Satan

Python Guth is the evil force of the Mongolian folk literature, Satan is a classic devil character in western literature. Because of both of them are the devil image of the Mongolian folk literature and western literature and share typical image and similar properties, they showe a lot in common. On the other hand, due to many other factors, sunch as cultural traditions, they also have many differences. In view of the above, this paper mainly useing the theories and methods of comparative literature, compares the image of Python Guth and Satan, to find similarities and differences and discusses the the rule of demon image creation in eastern and western literature.This paper consists of five parts:firstly discusses the possibility and importance of comparative study on the image of Python Guth and Satan, and alsoin troduces the research background; The first chapter analyzed the connotation of the python Guth and Satan, contain three aspects such as the definition, etymology and alias; The second chapter contrasts the image of Python Guth and Satan, from the appearance of the image, social structure, character and behavior.The third chapter make the conclusion that the prototype both of them are snake and discusses the history of snake prototype become demon and eventually be established as the devil’s image. The last part is the conclusion of whole article.Python Guth and Satan both are traditional demon image,which unified appearance with internal. Both of them are not demon inborn. The examples of snake prototype is transformed into demon maybe can reveal the histry of part of monsters.
