Shuzheng Of Yan Characters In Dongzhou Dynasty

Because of the dramatic social changes during the Chunqiu and warring ststes period,the wordage assume many different features according to the distinction of states and zones.In recent decades.the research on characters of warring states have made many achievements,the studying of separate zones has also made great progress.By contrast,the study of Yan characters in Dongzhou has got many achievements,but is still relatively slow. So far there is not a monograph on the study of the whole Yan characters in Dongzhou dynasty including finishing interpretation and Shuzheng,which from the perspective of philology,also combined with previous research results.This dissertation titled Shuzheng of Yan characters in Dongzhou dynasty falls into three parts:the firstpart is a general introduction,the second part is the main thesis, the shuzheng of single words and combined words,and the third part is appendix.The text materials collected include bronze wares,weapons,seals,pottery inscriptions,and ancient coins.The introduction has a detailed collation and summary about the present research situation of the Yan characters in Dongzhou dynasty.It also introduce the entry list, methods and significance of the study.The text includes shuzheng of single words and combined words.The part of Shuzheng of single words is divided into fourteen sections.Characters are listed according to "Shuowen" if there are appeared in the "Shuowenjiezi".the character will be placed after the corresponding radical (bu shou) when it doesn’t appear in "Shuowenjiezi".The part of Shuzheng of combined words collect combined words.During the process of Shuzheng,the following tasks will be done.firstly,collecte the different research results and add comments if it is necessary,on condition that there are differences of interpretation about the character.secondly,show the development condition of the whole evolution of the character,quote characters from others zones in Dongzhou and then reviewed on the characters of this period briefly.Thirdly,present the discussion of Yan characters in Dongzhou dynasty from the configuration and style.Finally,supplement diction about the character and interpretations abut the meaning of the character.In the end,there is a conclusion about the condition of the Shuzheng.Appendix falls into two parts;The first part is the "Unknown words",which is difficult in identify and interpretation to the scholars and me.The second part is "an entry list of Shuzheng",which is a summary of the whole words in "Shuzheng".
