Ili River Valley is not only the big stage of the Eurasian steppe where the nomads live and thrive, it is also a region where multi-ethnic coexists with multi-religion. During the late Ming and early Qing Dynasty, Ili Valley is governed by the Dzungar Khanate. During 1755-1756, the Qing government completely suppressed the long insurrection in Dzungar Khanate, completed the political consolidation of the North Tianshan mountains. In 1759, the southern border was pacified and the rebellion which led by the "Turpak Khoja brothers"--Burhan al-Din and Khoja-i Jahan, was controlled too, the north and south of Tianshan mountains was unified.Following the consolidation of rule over Xinjiang by the Qing government, Ili became the political, economic, military and cultural center of Xinjiang. Ili 1884,when Xinjiang was turned into a province governed directly by the central authorities,Ili had played a pivotal role in promoting national unity and advancing Xinjiang’s social and economic development. In modern times, Ili has become a conduit for international exchange with strategic significance.Numerous Chinese and foreign researches about the history of Ili in the Qing Dynasty are carried out, at present, many historians have achieved remarkable results.But the number of researches on Uygur literature in Qing Dynasty appeared to be deficient in comparison, not enough attention was paid in this area, it would affect the integrity of the research of the history in the Qing Dynasty both in Ili and Xinjiang. These authors who recorded the historical documents in Qing Dynasty in Ili area are Uygur, the documents’ contents are rich and reliable, and are of high value as well. They improve and enrich our researches in the study of the history of Xinjiang in the Qing Dynasty, they are also an indispensable part of the study, it should be given adequate attention and use.This paper takes the Uyghur literature as the research object, in the context of the history of the Qing Dynasty in Xinjiang, collects the historical materials about Uyghur literature during this period in Ili, including the historical titles, completed time of the books, the different editions of the books, the authors, and their main content. At the same time, discusses its value and limitations.The main part of this paper includes five chapters. The first chapter is theintroduction part, the main contents are: the basic ideas, research methods, the academic value of this thesis and the significance of the research, as well as the innovation and the deficiency, the research purpose and focus of the research. The second chapter is a brief description of the history of Ili during the Qing Dynasty to the the period of the Republic of China, it provides a historical background in literature research; The third chapter studies the title, editions, author, and the main content of the Uyghur literature; The fourth chapter mainly discusses the historical value of Uyghur literature; three sections are divided to spread out the analysis, the first section is the obtained first-hand information that local people wrote. Second section, supplementation is given to the relevant historical data; in the third section,some of the documents and records error are corrected. The fifth chapter analyses the limitations and insufficient of the previous documents that were found, it is divided into four sections, the first section, "the relation of the two ideologies", the second section is strong religious color, the third section is the description of the errors; the fourth section is, some other issues that are related to the problems.
