Using horizontal and vertical analysis method, analyze the periodic characteristics of the urbanization development of Q itai county and site protection, put forward that four stages of county, such as around the old city development, gradually expand, polycentric development, historical and cultural protective development, corresponds to the four stages of site protection work, the present archaeological work weakly, protect the backward thinking, protection consciousness gradually formed, historical and cultural city planning work. From the aspects of policy, funds, travel analyzed opportunities about the urbanization into a site protection. Analysis site characteristics, urban development and protection of the site progress, points out that the sites have the problem of the farmland occupied, area expanding, the construction of the infrastructure, the development of industrial land, the improper tourism use.
