The Research Of Houshan’s Comments On Poets And Poetry

Chen Shidao was one of the three leaders of Jiangxi Poetry Sect, his Houshan’s Comments of Poets and Poetry was the important representative of poetical talks in North Song Dynasty,which had a wide range about poetics,articlology and literary theory of Ci.This book reflected Chen Shidao’s literary theory, worked in concert with his literary creation and layed the theoretical basis of Jiangxi Poetry Sect. Houshan’s Comments of Poets and Poetry reflected a feature of connecting link,because of its inheritance and innovation on the compilation style.This thesis will focus on the research of its editions,authenticity, literary theory, the relationship between Chen Shidao’s literary theory and literary creation, features and value, which is split into seven parts:The introduction introduces the research significance, the research status, the research comment, the research method and the innovation of this thesis.The first chapter introduces the different editions of Houshan’s Comments of Poets and Poetry and draws the conclusion that it was written by Chen Shidao by analyzing its authenticity.The second chapter focuses on th research of Chen Shidao’s poetics, which is split into five parts.The third chapter focuses on the research of Chen Shidao ’s articlology, discusses the intension of his opinion of no-studying articles after the Eastern Han Dynasty and his style-respect awareness of articles.The forth chapter focuses on the literary theory of Ci, draws the conclusion that the orthodox school Ci is the graceful and restrained Ci.The fifth chapter focuses on the relationship of agreement and contradiction between Chen Shidao’s literary theory and his literary creation.The part of conclusion summarizes the features in the comment of Houshan’s Comments of Poets and Poetry, its value on the history of poetical talks and its influence onthe literary development after the North Song Dynasty.
