A Study Of "Gui Tian Discourse On Poetry"

Gui Tian Discourse on Poetry is a poetic theory work written by Qu You at the end of Yuan Dynasty and the beginning of Ming Dynasty.The book is divided into three volumes,a total of 120 poem comments.Its main content revolves around poetry evaluation and appreciation,it selects the outstanding works of the past dynasties(mainly the Tang Dynasty)to be analyzed.Some scholars believe that "Qu You’s poems and Gui Tian Discourse on Poetry" have a certain significance for the prosperity of Yue poetry in the early Ming Dynasty and the opening of the elegance of Hangzhou in the Ming and Qing Dynasties".This paper is divided into four chapters.The book contains 120 poem comments,among which 158 characters(including literati and emperors of various dynasties)are mentioned,and 312 poems,comments and quotations are included.This part of the study,from the perspective of the tju yu contact of the Ming dynasty,of academic circles about the run zhen,"the title of a verification and evaluation related disputes suspicion,it also makes a quantitative analysis of the poem comments in Gui Tian Discourse on Poetry.The second chapter focuses on the analysis of the poetic dimension of Gui Tian Discourse on Poetry.This paper classifies and summarizes the poetry criticism of the whole book from four dimensions: conception,language,realm and function.First,about the idea of poetry,Qu You’s standard is: the idea is novel,detached from the vulgar;The intention is true,convincing in the reader;High purpose,police pull in mediocrity;The idea is ingenious,and he is inclined to the world.Secondly,Qu You put forward the ideas of refining words,refining syntax and emphasizing temperament of voice.Thirdly,as for the state,Qu You emphasized the methods that should be followed in pursuing the lofty artistic conception of poetry from the micro to the macro level,from the three levels of broad artistic conception,broad-minded and grand theme.Fourthly,about the function of poetry,this paper analyzes the function of the author dimension and the function of the social dimension,and the influence and function of poetry on the author are also the focus of Qu You’s unique perspective.In the third chapter,Qu You specifically put forward the theory of "chest order" and "poetic style" in Gui Tian Discourse on Poetry,this paper analyzes the connotation and significance of the two theories from three aspects,namely,the origin of exploration,the source of practice and the relationship between them,combining with Qu You’s poetry creation.The fourth chapter summarizes the poetic theory of Gui Tian Discourse on Poetry,discusses its influence on poetry creation,poetry criticism and preservation of documents,and compares the relationship between Qu You’s advocation of Song poetry and the mainstream poetics of "advocating Tang and disrespecting Song" in the Ming Dynasty.Through the research and discussion,this paper has a new understanding of the poetic value and influence of Gui Tian Discourse on Poetry.First,it puts forward a proposition different from the mainstream poetics of the Ming Dynasty: it advocates Song poetry,which is the first to advocate Song poetry in the Ming Dynasty.The second is to focus on the function of poetry from the author’s dimension.
