Objective:To mainly learn the present situation and the characteristics of occupational stress and job satisfaction of Shanxi Special Posts Teachers.To explore the relationships between occupational stress, coping styles and job satisfaction of special posts teachers and to build models of their influence relations. This can provide reference for daily stress management of Special Post Teachers, and especially provide reference for improving the Special Post Teachers ’job satisfaction.Methods:With the method of cluster sampling, we conducted a questionnaire survey for500 local representatives teachers from Shanxi special posts in “primary and secondary school teachers training” conference which organized by Shanxi Province Department of Education. Then purposely selected five teachers in special posts for further in-depth interviews. This study used statistical methods, like t test, analysis of variance, correlation analysis, regression analysis, using structural equation modeling and interviews.Results:(1)The average score of Special post teachers’ occupational stress is63.80±15.46,below average level, the average score of Special post teachers’ job satisfaction is 88.40±11.04,in the mid to upper level.(2) Special posts teachers of different gender have significant differences on the leadership scores( t=2.472,p<0.05) and colleague relationship scores( t=2.811,p<0.01).(3) Special posts teachers of different educational degrees have significant differences on total occupational stress scores and workload, students’ academic,social and school evaluation, professional development scores, and it has statistical significance(p<0.05);on job satisfaction total scores and self-realization dimension scores(p<0.01) positive coping styles exist very significant differences(F=4.408,p<0.05).(4) Special posts teachers in different regions on negative coping styles scores(F=8.405, p<0.01) are significantly different.(5) Special post teachers of different ages have significant differences on work load(F=3.962, p<0.05)and negative coping scores(F=4.603, p<0.05),with statistical significance.(6) In correlation analysis, occupational stress scores and positive response exist a significant negative correlation(r=-0.417, p<0.01), occupational stress and negative coping scores exist a positive correlation(r=0.233, p<0.01), occupational stress and job satisfaction scores exist a significant negative correlation(r=-0.477, p<0.01),positive response and job satisfaction scores exist a significant positive correlation(r=0.422, p<0.01).(7) Each factor of occupational stress all exist a negative correlation with positive coping(p<0.01),exist a positive correlation with negative coping(p<0.01);positive response with self-realization(r=0.446, p<0.01), the intensity of work,work wages, leadership relations, colleagues relationships(p<0.05) exist a significant positive correlation; negative coping with self-realization(r=-0.236, p<0.01) exist a negative correlation, with the intensity of work(r=0.199, p<0.01) exist a positive correlation; each factor of occupational stress and job satisfaction significantly associated with each other at((p<0.05)or(p<0.01) level.(8) Using job satisfaction total scores as the dependent variable to conduct a stepwise regression analysis, as a result, workload, positive response, social and school evaluation enter into the equation.(9) The direct effect of occupational stress on job satisfaction is-0.56, the directeffect of positive coping on job satisfaction is 0.31, the indirect effect of occupational stress on job satisfaction is-0.14.Conclusion:(1) Special post teachers’ occupational stress is below average level,the main pressure sources are problem behaviors of students and students’ academic problems,Special post teachers’ job satisfaction is in the mid to upper level, the lowest satisfaction are work strength and leadership relations.(2) Special post teachers of different demographic characteristics(gender,education, region, age) in various psychological characteristics(occupational stress,positive coping, negative coping, and job satisfaction) exist differences.(3) Occupational stress, positive coping, negative coping, and job satisfaction exist significant correlations among each other, positive coping is the mediating variables between occupational stress and job satisfaction.
