Square is one of the most important external public space in city, it is not just a simple piece of artificial pavement venues, but also the large part stage of people’s life and the living room of the city. Square satisfies more and more exchanges between people, but also meet the needs of modern urban external public places. Therefore, from this perspective, the square gives people the most direct and frequently feelings of a city in public places. Square services for people,as the main body, the square is full of vigor because of the people’s activities, and the square is the soul of the city. What kind of square is the humanized square? We can understand it in this way, the square is suitable for most users(Perfect works could not make all people feel pleasant), and it can meet most of the users’ goals or requirements, And the humanized square can bring people comfortable and cheerful.This article will do some researches on the cognition, feeling, color, vision,attention, memory and other aspects by adopting the combination of research and subjective analysis method, and analysis the culture of the square,the space of the square, the landscapeof the square is how to embody the humanized design and meet the demand of square users in all aspects, and analysis of tongchuan city TAO YI square,and put forward the opinions to the similar design.This article summarizes the important theories of psychology and the theories of environmental psychology. It discusses the relationship of the city square between the traditional culture, interspace and sight, and analysis the mental model of city square users, and put forward the principle which can meet basic security needs, and meet the requirments of communication in publics with regional culture characteristics.
