In the twenty-first century, “Image Reading” has grown rapidly in the city we live in,images has been in the case of voluntary or involuntary, conscious or unconscious penetrating into every aspect of our lives. As one of the way to understand and grasp the world for the human beings, image plays an irreplaceable role through the photographic.Unfortunately, in the development process of photography, we can rarely see the outstanding photography works with both presenting objectivity and spirit, and the key solution of this problem is the photography education.At present, there is no one complete photographic materials for Chinese photography education, the lack of theory is the weakness of China’s photography. Shaanxi, as a major province of education, more and more universities establish the photography specialty, and a growth number of photographers who represent the highest level of Photography in Shaanxi are joining the rank of photography education, and making enormous contributions, this situation has become a highlight in Chinese education. In this paper, I studied the creation experiences and photography works of Chen Baosheng,Hu Wugong, Bai Yuguo, Li Fan and Zhang Hui, and then analyzed the educational objectives, curriculums, and teaching methods in universities where they are working in.Firstly, because of the diversity in their photography style and teaching methods, they all have their own aesthetical theories and educational thoughts; secondly, their universities have different orientations for photography specialty, resulting in the established photography specialties have different characteristics. The study of diversity in their educational methods and models can provide more references for photography education in Shaanxi province, and mutual understanding, studying each other, mutual promotion could also enhance the level of photography education in our province.The present photography education in Shaanxi have different emphasis in educational methods and professional training direction, providing one profound foundation for students to choose the multi-photographic education environment they prefer. But the whole photography educational system has a common problem, which is “how to cultivate practical photography talents with independent thoughts?” And this issue is not caused by one simple educational matter. The author focused on the common issues that existing in the photography education in Shaanxi province, and also provide improvement solutions from two aspects. First of all, 1, a concern for the aesthetic,rooted in life, 2, community-oriented, market related, 3, solid foundation. The solution is to broaden horizons and improve photography teaching philosophy as a theoretical guide. And secondly, 1, from diversified means 2, targeted teaching, 3, integrated test.The solution is to improve the photographic teaching methods as the practice foundation.This paper makes the preliminary study for the overall improvement of the level of photography education in Shaanxi province.
