The Innovation Research Of Fengxiang Clay Sculpture Element In The Illustration Design

As a symbol of the culture and art representatives of Shanxi Province, Fengxiang clay sculpture has profound historical and cultural significance, as well as reflects the artistic value of folks. In the era of accelerating the spread of modernization process, the impact of cultural diversity becomes more and more intensive. Modernization accelerates the dissemination of "pictures era", The communication of "maps" is more directly than the texts, which is more easy to understand. How to combine the modern graphic design with Fengxiang clay sculpture to reflect the characteristics of them is particularly urgent at present.This paper is aimed to explore the innovative design of illustration by using the elements of Fengxiang clay.The research aims to not only keep the traditional features of Fengxiang clay sculpture, but also display in the form of illustration design by using graphic design techniques.Firstly, the paper made an exposition of the characteristics of Fengxiang clay and illustration art, analyzed and studied the graphics, colors, and shapes of Fengxiang clay sculpture respectively. At the same time, I researched the artistic value,nationalization tendencies of development, and the the basic elements of illustration design,compared the feasibility and universality of the folk art application in illustration design. Then, the paper made a deep research in Fengxiang clay elements innovatively, summed up graphic design features, color ratio, shape characteristics, which are fit into the modern illustration. Finally, through the formal beauty law, in the form of graphic visual language and series of illustrations, to design the innovative Fengxiang clay illustrations, making more people to understand the local culture of Shanxi Province. This paper aims to do innovative research of clay sculpture and illustration design to find innovative ideas for them, to make a better development of the historical and cultural characteristics of Shanxi’s Fengxiang clay sculpture, to driven the cultural transmission of Modern illustration design, to fully reflect the advantages of innovation combining with history, to promote the development of regional economic and cultural industries.
