With the accelerating pace of globalization,China's interconnection with other parts of the world has become increasingly widespread. In order to facilitate the internalization of translation studies,it is helpful to compare the similarities and differences of domestic and international research. With the aim of uncovering the latest research trends of translation studies in China and abroad, the present study collected and analyzed 1221 Chinese journal papers and 214 western journal papers published from 2006 to 2017.Based on existing methods and contents framework, each paper is analyzed from three aspects: method, content and authors' affiliations and a comparison is made. The results indicate that translation studies at home and abroad are generally similar in terms of content and methods. However, noticeable differences are still worth considerations. From a general perspective, the largest proportion at home is descriptive research while applied researches abroad.Concerning methods, scholars abroad prefer experimental methods, survey and case study while those at home prefer case study, experiential summary and survey.Furthermore, language universities with frequent international exchanges are more productive in translation studies in China.Researches in English-speaking countries like UK,Australia and Canada are more.Based on the results,we have proposed the following suggestions.1)both domestic and international scholars need to put more emphasis on process-oriented translation studies.2)domestic scholars need to pay more attention to theoretical studies on strategies.3)translation curricula design and translator training are important for cultivating translators in China.4)scholars at home and abroad should focus more on empirical study of translation. The international visibility of domestic research needs improving.
