The motion picture industry, is the film copyright industry, has grown rapidly in China since 2003. But the derived products of movies are still an underdeveloped part in China film market, so most revenues of the film copyrights is from its box office. Moreover, the film copyright assessment system in China has not yet been established. Based on the status quo of film industry in our country, the paper combines empirical analysis with royalty savings method to study the influencing factors of domestic films box office and the value of movie exhibition rights.First and foremost, this paper sorts out relevant literatures from home and abroad, which concerns moviegoing behavior, film box office influencing factors and its prediction model as well as evaluation on the film copyright; then analyses those scholarly studies of film copyright evaluation. Secondly, based on the theory of the intangible assets evaluation and econometrics, selects 44 domestic movies from 2012 to 2013 for carrying out empirical analysis on the factors which affect the box office;After that, builds the multiple regression model as well as test and verify the result. Finally, uses the royalty saving method to assess the value of movie exhibition rights. According to the result of the empirical analysis, in recent years, the exhibition frequency and the releasing time of a movie influence its box office far more than its director and movie stars; in addition, the production costs of a film is not always in proportion to its box office. This article tries to raise some useful suggestions for the investment of movies and the establishment of film copyright assessment system through analyzed the influencing factors of box office, established the box office revenue prediction model and combining with intangible assets evaluation method.
