Evaluation Of Film Copyright Value

Since the reform of film industrialization in 2003,China’s film industry has achieved rapid development.In 2003,China’s film box office revenue was only 1 billion yuan.By 2018,China’s film box office revenue has exceeded 60 billion yuan.In the development process of these years,the production level and the number of releases have made great progress,at the same time,the rapid development has also exposed some problems.For example,the definition of the ownership of film rights is not clear,the evaluation of film copyright value is ignored in China,and the lack of investment subjects and other issues.If the film industry wants to develop healthily and sustainably,it must first solve the financing problem.Investors generally believe that the film industry investment is high risk,and it is difficult for producers to provide objective and impartial evaluation report,making many films unable to attract investors.Because of these problems,China’s film industry investment and financing are blocked,and it is difficult to maintain sustained and rapid development.Compared with the situation that the revenue of Hollywood film derivatives is as high as 70% of the total revenue,90% of the film revenue in China comes from the box office,and the film derivatives are not the main source of the film revenue in China.In 2015,the fantasy film "monster hunt" was released in China.Because the small and medium-sized monster "Wuba" in the film was deeply loved by the audience,the online games and dolls designed with "Wuba" as the main character image became very popular after the film went offline.Although China’s film industry now has the market share of film derivatives,it still accounts for a small proportion.The main source of the film industry’s income is still the box office revenue.In view of this,this paper,based on the current income source composition of China’s film industry,takes the main factors affecting the film box office income and the prediction of the film box office income as the main line,USES the income method to evaluate the film copyright,and establishes a multiple regression model to predict the income amount,and conducts an in-depth study on the value of film copyright.Based on the current development of China’s film industry,this paper mainly studies the following three aspects: theoretical research,empirical research and case analysis.Firstly,the concepts of copyright and film copyright in this paper are defined.In the selection of evaluation methods,the income method model and main parameters are emphatically introduced.Then the empirical analysis is carried out,and the prediction model of film box office revenue is established after analyzing the factors affecting the film box office revenue one by one.Explanatory variables in the model this paper selects six variables,namely,screening time,director,star,release schedule,production level and film type,and tests the rationality of the model.Finally,a case study is carried out to evaluate the copyright value of the film "a flying life",and the sensitivity analysis of the main parameters affecting the evaluation results is carried out to reach the final conclusion.After summarizing the above three aspects of research,this paper analyzes the deficiencies in the research process,and looks forward to the future development of film copyright value assessment.It is hoped that the research in this paper can provide reference for the future investment and financing of China’s film industry and the development of China’s film copyright evaluation in the evaluation institutions in the future.
