In recent years, we can see some phenomenon about the "Heat of Chinese characters". The Chinese Spelling Hero and the Dictation Assembly of Chinese Characters have been attracted a wave of people to learn Chinese characters, with media ratings, market appeared kinds of Chinese character games, especially in accordance with the games of Chinese characters in the TV show are very popular.Nowadays there are lots of educational games through which people learning Chinese characters by writing characters, listening and repeating characters, learning from finals, phonetic notation and component, the shortcoming of these methods is that it is one-sided in terms of teaching material. Especially in the content, each game has its own standards, the game needs to play the game developers and the Chinese character educators close cooperation. A variety of Chinese character games caused some players don’t know how to choose, and guiding the player to learn Chinese characters is the top priority of the Chinese characters game development.In order to learn Chinese characters through education game in a more profound way, this thesis examine the design of educational games from the perspective of Chinese character space. Learners can achieve the goal of learning Chinese characters in all directions from configuration to image. Firstly I explore the theory of Chinese character space, then I conclude layout space and image space of Chinese character, further, I analyze the interaction between cognitive psychology and educational games. By study typical case of educational games, I build the theoretical mode of Chinese character educational games based on the theory of experience learning. Based on the theoretical model, I analyze the demand, learning objective and content of experiential Chinese character educational game and construct the design document, furthermore I design relevant elements elements including situation, task, level, feedback, interface, layout of Chinese characters, space of Chinese characters.At last I select the assessment method which is suitable for experiential Chinese character educational game among various methods. I adopt measurement scale method and interview method from quantitative and qualitative perspective respectively. In the design part I make a user experience analysis. According to the results, I optimize stability, feedback information, reward mechanism and content of the game. The results shows that the core user of my design aims at people aged 6 to 8 years old, the virtual environment of my game could stimulate learning potential. Before optimization, overall user experience rate is good. After optimization overall experience rate is excellent. This means my game achieve its prospective goal in helping children improve their abilities of Chinese spatial cognition.
