A Study On The Influence Of The Learning Experience Of Traditional And Simplified Characters On The Chinese Character-related Language Ability Of Vietnamese Intermediate-level Chinese Second-speakers

At present,with the rapid economic development,and the continuous deepening of exchanges and cooperation between China and Vietnam,bilateral relations between the two countries have become more and more stable.Especially the large number of Taiwanese companies entering Vietnam,there is a shortage of Chinese-language talents,especially those who are good at traditional characters.But at present,Vietnamese learners having Chinese as second language generally only learn simplified Chinese characters,and few people learn traditional Chinese characters.Will the traditional Chinese character learning experience affect the learner's literacy,vocabulary,reading ability and other related language skills?If there is an influence,in what specific area is the influence,and what are the reasons?In order to answer the above questions,this study took two groups of students with different Chinese character learning experiences in a Chinese faculty of a university in Da Nang City,Vietnam as the research object,and used self-compiled questionnaires to examine the changes in Chinese-related abilities before and after different Chinese character learning experiences.Situation,through a comparative analysis of the differences between the two groups of Chinese characters related language skills,combined with detailed error corpus analysis,explored the impact of different Chinese character learning experiences on learners' Chinese language ability and their causes;at the same time,through learning The reflection of the learner's learning methods and learning process further reveals the reasons why the experience of Chinese characters affects related language abilities.After the combined research of quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis,the following main conclusions are obtained:First,the results of the Chinese character-related language ability test found that there was a significant difference in the literacy and vocabulary scores of learners of Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese,and there was no significant difference in reading scores.Therefore,compared with the simplified Chinese learning experience,traditional Chinese character learning experience has played a significant role in promoting learners' literacy and vocabulary.This shows that different learning experiences have an important impact on literacy and vocabulary,but have no significant impact on reading ability.Second,the analysis of the error corpus in the test found that:first,in the literacy test,a comparative analysis of the error situation of the two groups of learners showed that the total number of errors,the number of learner errors in the simplified group is higher than that of the traditional group.The proportion of various types of errors in the two groups is the same,and the highest is the meaning error,followed by the shape error,and the lowest proportion of the phonetic errors.Second,in terms of vocabulary test,the total number of errors in traditional group is less than that of simplified group.In terms of error types,the two groups of learners have the most errors or translation errors,followed by guessing the meaning of words based on Chinese characters.In addition,traditional characters group learners have a higher proportion of errors in guessing words based on Chinese characters than simplified characters.Third,in the reading ability test,the average error amount of the two groups of subjects is basically the same,but the proportion of various types of errors is different.The error proportion of traditional group in judging the meaning of words and finding and understanding the facts is obviously higher than that of simplified group.The traditional group,however,has the proportion of errors in comprehending the intention and mastering the main idea of the essay is obviously lower than that of the simplified Chinese character group.Third,the interview of Chinese character learning strategies found that:First,when beginning to learn simplified Chinese characters,because of the mother tongue background and Chinese proficiency,the interviewers using Chinese character learning strategies with a high degree of personalization.Overall,the most commonly used strategies are review strategy,glyph strategy and phonetic strategy,the least commonly used strategies are stroke strategy,application strategy and induction strategy;second,with the deepening of learning,the Chinese character strategies used by different Chinese character experience groups have converged,but have changed significantly from the beginning.It shows that the most commonly used review strategy before becomes one of the least commonly used strategies.More learners have chosen the glyph strategy,the number of phonetic strategy users has decreased,and the number of application strategy users have increased;third,in the period of studying of traditional characters,the glyph strategy is still the most commonly used Chinese character learning strategy,followed by the review strategy,and the pronunciation strategy,application strategy,induction strategy,and stroke strategy are less commonly used Chinese character learning strategies.According to the research results of Chinese character learning results and learning process and strategies,different Chinese character experiences have a significant impact on learners' literacy and vocabulary.With the deepening of learning,the learning methods of learners have also changed constantly at different stages of learning.The traditional Chinese character learning experience prompts learners to continuously adjust according to their own knowledge status and level,and chooses a suitable level of learning method with better effect,which plays a role in promoting learners' literacy and vocabulary.Based on the above research results,we have made targeted suggestions for teaching Chinese characters in Vietnam.
