As the "axis" figure in the "Axial Age" of China, the thought of Confucian created by Confucius exerted a profound influence upon Chinese literature creation and the development of literary Criticism during two thousand years.For a long time, the concept of Confucian literature was summed up as "poetic education" , emphasizing that literature should serve political education, that the literature is the best mean to educate people by humanity, justice, courtesy and music. The so-called "poetic education" stress the relationship between poetry and political indoctrination.Confucius was a saints who stressed the humanity in education. The core of Confucianism is to educate people to be the good men. He made the ideal personality for the good man, and discovered measures of“to be a good man”. Confucian literary thought and the educational objectives are carried out around this core. Specifically, through literature and art to create a noble person is the core of literary theory.“It is by the poems that the mind is aroused of ; it is by the rites thatthe character is established ; it is from music that the finish is consolidated”is the life of Confucius Pursuits and Educational Exprience of poetry and music, which has the internal consistency of the educational activities with the Confucian educational objectives. It embodies the Confucian core value of the literary and artistic awareness. This thesis tries to discover Confucius Art thought for Life by“It is by the poems that the mind is aroused of ; it is by the rites that the character is established ; it is from music that the finish is consolidated”. Besides the introduction and conclusion, it is divided into three chapters.The first chapter discusses Confucius and his benevolence. Confucius was a "benevolence" Rikkyo saints, which is our starting point to understand Confucianism. His doctrine or theory of a“benevolence”developed the ideal personality, which is built by poetry and music.“It is by the poems that the mind is aroused of ; it is by the rites that the character is established ; it is from music that the finish is consolidated”is the focus of Confucius thought of poetry and music expression, and embodies the core of his theory of poetry education content.The second chapter is about the interpretation of“It is by the poems that the mind is aroused of ; it is by the rites that the character is established ; it is from music that the finish is consolidated”. This chapter is divided into three sections: Section I focuses on“By Poetry”improvisation on the situation, the situation is an important dimension of Confucian poetics. Confucius“by Poetry”is made from nature’s sense of the rise of the truth of poetry to conserve humanity and to life, Henry’s understanding, to achieve the improvement of moral character. Section II focuses on“stand ceremony”.“Propriety”,“stand Man”embodies the spirit of a unity of knowledge and practice. This is an important feature of the thought of Benevolence . Section III succeeding from music.“Music means joyness”," "Music can help good charater”. The final completion of the ideal personality is achieved by“music”, which is pleasure of spiritual freedom. Music is both a means of shaping the ideal personality and the highest state of the art, it is the highest state of life.The third chapter discriminate the "emotion" of Confucius Poetics.
