In the Spring and Autumn period, the rites and music must be coordinated. The rites was not complete without music,while the music could not be used without rites. The rites was the owner of music,the music was the auxiliary.Music is actually poetry music. For example, Mao Interpretation of "The book of songs" : " in ancient, poetry teaching is: chanting, song, chord, dance." Here the "poetry" refered to the " poetry music". Poetry is a unity of the poem and the music, It emerged as the times required in the rites and music system. Only under the the culture background of rites and music, the usage and its specific content of the poem and the music can be revealed objectively, comprehensively. Before Xia, Shang, Zhou Dynasty, the government was integral, the poem and music were together, but after the spring and autumn period, every class at all levels of society had arrogated ritual behavior at different degrees, with the "falling of rites and music" situation. Therefore, the situation of music matching rites began to disintegrate, music and rites were also constantly separated, and went towards the road of independent development. Fading, Confucius was upset on the fading of rites and music, hoping to turn back the powers of darkness, to revive and Reconstruct the ritual culture period of the Zhou Dynasty. Confucius are the transition character of the teaching methods. Confucius loved traditional culture, narrating but not creating, arranged the "poem", "book of order", "rites", "music" and other classics, and tought the disciples, transforming the teaching content from the traditional "the Six Rites" of “rite, music, archery, drive, words ang maths arts gradually into "the Six Classics" of "poem", "book", "rite", "music", " the Book of Changes" and "spring and Autumn",making the court culture to the literati culture.In the consolidation and dissemination of traditional culture, Confucius hope to achieve the ideal political by artistic way. Poetry music as an important content in Confucius academic,was a kind of moral art,which could serve politics better, and realize ideal social life. In other words, poetry music is an important means by which Confucius fulfilled his academic ideal. Confucius intellectual development was originated in the rites, developed to benevolence, and matured in the Yi-ology. Confucius’ s poetry music thought was under the guidance of the rite, played an active role, improving own self-cultivation, and gradually becoming a kind of benevolence from outside to inside. But, as a humanitarian, the benevolence was still unified with providence. So, cultivating oneself, he should also be Interested in Implementation of the heaven law. Only in this way, we can truly achieve the ideal of " Interested in the heaven law, according to virture, relying on benevolence, traveling in the arts". So,Confucius’ s thought was to teach with divinities, sparing no efforts to promote "benevolence", to "deny self and return to propriety" under the guidance of Yi-ology. The height of "benevolence" is the height of poetry music, the realm of "benevolence" is the realm of poetry music. Poetry music was the effective way to "deny self and return to propriety".As accompaniment of the rites and music, poetry music was held for the ceremony and performance, and often through the suspended music to play. The divinities was connected with humanitarian closely together, it required complete the human cause under influence of the destiny. It is because of the pursuit of unity of divinities and ethics that Confucius interpretated poetry music often from the moral point of view, on the basis of the benevolence and swimming in the arts. But only swimming in arts was not enough, we should also pay attention to the artistic essence, namely, rites, benevolence.rite is also practice, order,too. Music is also happyness, love. Therefore, poetry music must pay attention to the ornamental and plain properties combined, reach the acme of perfection, and be of moderate feeling and reason, of integration of knowledge and practice.On the poetry music, Confucius attach more importance to "music". Poetry music, music and sound are interlinked, but the difference is also obvious. "Sound" is sound, influense the sense. "Sound" is a melody sound, reach the mind. And "poetry music" is the moral tone, connected with ethics. Hence the saying: "know the sound but not music, are animals; know mudic but not the poetry music,are peole;only the good people know the poetry music". Therefore Confucius loves “music”, not only because of "music" beyond "poem", but more important the "music" was a virtue sound. The "music" of virtue sound was the best embodiment of harmonious society, and a symbol of happiness. Confucius connested the social phenomenon(music, Yuè) with music experience(music, lè) cleverly and creatively. Specifically, Confucius Confucius was influenced by “three happiness”( live and work in peace, be optimistic and self-confident, and be happy in doing good)of "Book of Changes", connected the poetry music and the happiness of music together, so that the "poetry music " rised to hitherto unknown height. The thought or "the music, happy" Emerged as the times required, which meant the art performance was changed into a physical enjoyment, moral cultivation. Therefore, poetry music is an art, more the carrier of a moral. "Poetry music" was able to make people happy, because it is a moral art. Confucius thought philosophically about why, how and where of happiness of poetry music, and built a better world for future generations: the person is a kind of being of poetry music.Confucius thought of poetry music has made great influence. In ancient times, mainly in two aspects of theoretical writings and the music usage in court. In the aspect of theory, in view of Confucius lofty status in the China culture, the inheritance of its poetry music thought had become the mainstream of art idea in later, the line is obvious: Confucius' "Music" ' "Music Theory" ' "Preface of Mao Poetry" ' "Poem Sequence" ' "Justice of Mao poetry" ' "Commentaries on Poetry", etc.. In the court music, the ancient rulers played music in the worship and party ritual, in addition to specialmechanism of management of poetry. Therefore, the usage of music in the court has a regulation, and officials at all levels was also very particular about music usage. Of course, because of the changes of the times, the ruler may make poetry all by themselves for dopting measures to suit local conditions. In addition, in the past, there are some government officials skip a grade to use the rite and music by taking the liberty. It actually promotted the development of the arts, but influenced the inheritance of poetry music. At present, the thought of Confucius poetry music still has the important value, namely: Music family, house beautiful; guiding the mass, flavor is advocated; moral music is the first, give consideration to multielement.
