Translation Practice Report On The Quality Manual Of Electric Motor

With the increasing of international scientific and technological exchanges,traditional translation experiences and studies focusing on literary translation andtranslation theory can no longer satisfy the demand of market for science andtechnology translation. As a result, unprecedented attention has been paid to scienceand technology translation.Based on the author’s own experience in translating The Quality Manual ofElectric Motor originally written by Yancheng Hengkang Mechanical and ElectricalCo. Ltd, this translation report analyzes and discusses the translation purpose,translation process and translation functions in virtue of the support of Skopos theory.The report also sums up the experience and rethinks the perception during thetranslation task.The report is divided into four parts: Translation Task Description, ProcessDescription, Translation Cases Analysis and Translation Practice Conclusion, withCase Analysis as the focus, and Conclusion as the keynote. According to the Chineseto English handbook of The Quality Manual of Electric Motor, the report analyzes thestylistic features on the basis of translation task statement and implementation process.Afterwards, the research is also made on the theoretical application, strategies andskills of science and technology translation. Finally, in order to provide reference forfuture translation practice, the report summarizes the mistakes and problemsappearing in the process of the translation.
