Taken the dialect of Qingxu County as the subject, this thesis aims to present a comprehensive record of the Phonology system of Qingxu County and a description as well as an analysis of some of its phonetic phenomenon.The thesis consists of eight chapters.First, it offers an introduction of the historical evolution, geography and population of Qingxu County review of the research and Internal differences of the phonology system of Qingxu County. Then, it elaborates on the Phonology system of this dialect, including initial consonant, finalss, Citation tone, tone sandhi. In the third chapter, a chart is presented to show the coordination between initial consonant, finalss and Citation tone. Through comparisons of initial consonant, finalss and tone between Qingxu dialect and Common Language. the fourth chapter concludes some corresponding rules between these two languages. In the following chapter, emphasis is placed on comparisons of the Phonology systems between Qingxu Dialect and Mid-century Chinese. It comes to some correspondences of initial consonant, finals, tone between Mid-century Chinese and Qingxu dialect as well as correspondences of initial consonant and finals between modern Qingxu Dialect and Mid-century Chinese. The sixth chapter dedicates to the literary and colloquial expressions of Qingxu dialect, involving both initial consonant and finals. The seventh chapter describes the evolution of eight years of The Phonology System of Xugou Dialect. The last chapter includes a list of homophones in the dialect. It makes an alphabet by finals of the monosyllabic words in the dialect.
