Taken the dialect of Xiaodian as the subject,the focus of this article is to analysis and descible the phonology system of Xiaodian dialect and some of its phonetic phenomenon as fully as possible.The thesis consists of eight chapters.The first part is an introduction of the geography,historical evolution and population of Xiaodian as well as present situations of the research of the phonology system of Xiaodian.And research significance of the topic,research methodsand introduction to pronunciation partners.The secord part is the phonology of Xiaodian dialect,including the Initial of a syllable,final,Citation tone,tone sandhi,retroflex final,sound change of suffix-In the third chapter,a chart is present to show the coordination between initial.consonant,final and Citation tone.In the following chapter,emphasis is placed on comparisons of phonology systems between Xiaodian dialect and Common Language.The fifth part through comparisons of initial consonant,final and tone between Xiaodian dialect and Mid-century of Chinese,conclude some corresponding rules between the two languages?It comes to some correspondences of initial consonant,final,tone between the two languages as well as correspondences of initial consonant and final between modern Xiaodian dialect and Mid-century of Chinese.The sixth chapter is the Xiaodian dialect's difference between literary and colloquial readings,including both initial consonant and final.The seventh chapter is the internal differences,including differences of different ages and the differences of different addresses.The last chapter includes the words combination of the same pronunciation.It makes an alphabet by final of the monosyllabic words in the dialect.
