During the period of learning Chinese, native English speakers are more inclined to be influenced by their mother tongue which exerts positive and negative influence on their learning. In the process of teaching Chinese as a foreign language, teachers to a large scale place enormous emphasis on Chinese-English translation to practice their teaching, so as to enable native English speakers learn Chinese effectively and efficiently. Granted, Chinese-English translation, one way or another, provides a magic bridge for native English speakers grasp the meaning of the vocabularies promptly, native English speakers are more likely to make error analysis in the usage of Chinese vocabularies, especially in synonym, since they could be easily influenced by the non-equivalence in the translation of Chinese-English in a series of textbooks for teaching Chinese as a second language, and also the influence of negative transfer of mother tongue. The primary subjects of this paper are native English speakers, and people for whom English is a second language are also included for assisted comparison. This research will make a survey on “the non-equivalence in the translation of Chinese-English of notional verb ”、“ the non-equivalence in the translation of Chinese-English auxiliary verbs ” 、 “ the non-equivalence in the translation of Chinese-English psychological verbs”, and find out the error caused by the phenomenon of the non-equivalence in the translation of Chinese-English, which would put forward measures accordingly for the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language.This paper will mainly discuss the following questions:Chapter1 the introduction part in the paper includes the significance of the topic, the research status and the methods this paper has adopted;Chapter2 making analysis on the phenomenon of the non-equivalence in the translation of Chinese-English.The definition of this paper regarding phenomenon of the non-equivalence in the translation of Chinese-English is that during the process of translation,two or more of Chinese vocabularies are equally translated with one English vocabulary;Meanwhile,these two Chinese vocabularies,may be synonym,and also may be monosyllable and dissyllable which have the similar significance;yet these two Chinese vocabularies are distinct in certain aspects.This paper mainly places emphasis on error-analysis brought by non-equivalence on Chinese-English translation,and pick up fifty groups which have the relatively higher error rate,so as to analyze in detail.These fifty groups vocabularies are:“参观、拜访”,“到达、达到”,“干扰、打扰”,“记载、记录”,“帮忙、帮助”,“具有、具备”,“节约,节省”,“向往、渴望”,“计'、打算”,“勉励、鼓励”,“夸、夸奖”,“使、使得”,“缺乏、缺少”,“认识、知道”,“能、会”.Also,this paper appropriately combine the survey on English native speaker and the survey on non-English speaker which is the control group,in order to get the reason of the error comprehensively and accurately,and then provide teaching advices for Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language;Chapter3 making research on the error-analysis brought by the phenomenon of non-equivalence on Chinese-English verbs translation. This paper minutely classify the verbs into three categories, including notional verbs、auxiliary verbs、and psychological verbs, and making research on the error-analysis brought by the phenomenon of non-equivalence on Chinese-English verbs translation in detail from the angel of notional verbs、auxiliary verbs、and psychological verbs.Chapter4 elaborately taking a teaching strategies regarding non-equivalence between the verbs translation of Chinese-English, mainly from the perspectives of textbooks, teachers, and international students;Chapter5 conclusion of this paper, including the main idea, innovation, shortcomings of this paper.
