Error Analysis, a concern of Second Language Acquisition (SLA), refers to aprocess in which researchers, to uncover the underlying reasons for the errors, focuson the analyzing of errors appearing when language learners are trying to use a targetlanguage. The significance of Error Analysis lies in its assisting second languageteaching with a rather efficient way.The errors made by Chinese learners from other language communities are aslike an apple is to an oyster. This paper is a corpus-based study based on ModernChinese Interlanguage Corpus (MCIC) of Beijing Language and Culture University(BLUC). Venture into the classification and annotation of the errors, one can get anidea of the outline of how the Chinese verbs are being used by the Chinese learners (3levers)from two language communities. Grounding on the relevant theories ofinterlanguage and second language acquisition, the writer compares and analyze theusing of Chinese verbs with the help of error analysis approaches.This paper is composed of6parts. As the Introduction, Part One introduces thesignificance of the subject, the research status at home besides the main supportingtheories and the research methods involved. Part2and3-Chapter3and4-concentrateon the verb using of English native speakers and those of Korean from South Korea.The writer arrives at his conclusion, as per the statistics, that ‘the-wrongly-applied’errors is the main form of errors of English speaking leaners while the Koreanspeakers apply the verbs in a disorder way. Part4-Chapter3-compares the errors fromthe two groups of Chinese learners. The writer discusses that negative transfer ofmeaning of mother tongue results in the English learners’ wrong performance ofChinese verb using while the inherent language order of SOV of Korean acts as theimmediate reason for the errors of Korean speakers. With the help of the statistics inprior chapters, Part5comes up with some specific suggestions for the teaching ofChinese verbs to the two groups of students. And, as usual, Part6forms the part ofConclusion.
