" The Monster " is unfailing motif in Hesperian Culture. It shows all kinds of monsters, that brought fear to Humanity, and fighted to Humanity, and the eventually eliminated by Humanity. This motif is generated many known monsters, and emerged in many texts such as literature, film and electronic game. The Monster Films is a type of film in develop western film, that contain Catastrophe, Horror, Sci-Fi types, that with shocked, amazed visual spectacle and allegoric, profound designatum of culture.The Firedragon, Werewolf, King Kong, Godzilla, Alien, Dinosaur, Gwoemul, Big Shark are famous monsters in filmic history. Those monsters bring unique Aesthetic-Experience because its formidable and unfavourable aspect, that is the Aesthetic-Characteristics of Monster Films.The objects of research in this paper are many monsters in films. This paper divide Monster Films into three types according to origin and symbol, there are Mythological Monsters, Technological Monsters, Heterizated Monsters. This paper use Mythology, Cultural Anthropology, Ecology, Post-colonialism, Feminism to unscramble the cultural designatum of Monster Film.Mythology Monsters produced in early days of human history, its source as an excessive early transition of wilderness monster, alien totem with horrible imagination, it signifies unknown and fatality.In Industrial Age, the thought about "man can conquer nature" of Humanity leads to ecstatic desire. The reason of Technological Monsters appears, on the one hand is the religious punishment for the humankind’s "arrogation of God’s creation", its essentially originates from the Western religious thought "doomsday"; on the other hand is the alternative warning to the human, for the contradictions between the increasingly powerful technology and the environment.Heterizated Monsters cultivated with the great collision, exchange and integration between the various nationalities since 20Century, and regions of the world, which translate the prejudice and discrimination of foreign ethnic into horrible monsters.In summary, all monsters are Man himself, are reflection and extend of objective world in people’s inner world. The Monster Film is carrier of image and metaphor of culture about fear, desire, contradiction, ungainliness and heterization.
