Since the 1990s, Cultural and creative industry has been greatly catalyzed by the rapid development of the knowledge economy as well as living standard. Under the influence of globalization, cultural and creative trade prospers and becomes a new hotspot of international trade. Thanks to its feature of "high tech, intelligence-incentive, high value-added, high return, small input, low energy consumption and low pollution level", cultural and creative industry is highly valued by various nations and even becomes the pillar industry of certain countries. More than an increasingly strong industrial entity, it stands out as the vital component of soft power of a country which supports the comprehensive enhancement of national competence.China is a country with over 4000-year history and the performance of its cultural goods in global stage is quite impressing these years. However, it is still lagged behind by the world cultural industrial powers. The unbalance of industrial development, over-centralization of export and the limited industrial scale greatly restricted further improvement of China’s cultural and creative industry. In this thesis, related academic research will be reviewed at the beginning and the cultural and creative industry will be defined. Then the situation of industrial development of both China and world is summarized. Following is the empirical analysis of factors that influence the export of Chinese cultural goods, in which factors such as cultural distance are specified and the gravity model is adopted. Finally, policy suggestion and conclusion are presented.
