In the history of Western philosophy, the research about truth has always been a core issue. At the different stages of the development of Western philosophy, on the definition of truth philosophers gives different answers, Such as correspondent truth theory, coherent truth theory, pragmatism, redundant truth theory. Until now, the debate on the question of truth has been on. Tarski’s semantic theory of truth as a modern theory of truth, which appears with its inherent reasons. From studying the " Liar ", Tarski found that the essential reason of the paradox, that is the closed nature of natural language. To solve this problem, he divided the language into natural language and formal language, then he divided formal language into object language and metalanguage. Tarski considers that in order to define the truth it must satisfy two conditions, namely, " the contents of the appropriate, formally correct." So, Using formal language, through the concept "satisfied" he defined "true ". The generation of Tarski’s semantic theory of truth not only separate logical positivism from morphological freed, but also produced a huge impact on the analytic philosophy, thus he established the modern logical semantics. Through studying various truth theories, this paper combined with " Liar " then lead to Tarski’s semantics theory of truth, and analysis his theory of truth, clarifies the reasion and the process of Tarski’s theory of truth, Finally this paper discussed the significance of Tarski’s semantic theory of truth deeply.
