The Catholic Influence On Rural Governance

China is a vast agricultural country, rural governance has been the important content of the national development. With the progress of era, the change of the society, the rural society in the process of development appeared a lot of new variation and situation. Nearly twenty to thirty years, the Catholic, has been developed rapidly in Chinese rural areas and has formed a large number of religious groups, has become a noticeable phenomenon which brought new challenges to the rural governance. As a worldview, a kind of Catholic has complex impact on rural governance including positive side and negative side. Therefore, how to correctly regard and deal with religious relations with the theme of building a harmonious society, the concrete target of new rural construction has been the key to the social stability and harmony, prosperity of socialist construction.As typical religious village, A village has a long history of Catholic belief. In the case of all the villagers are religious, Catholic culture inevitably affects all aspects of the rural governance. This also becomes the focus of our research of the promotive or obstructive influence on the country’s political, cultural, social development.This paper adopts method of literature research,Field research, participant observation and in-depth interview. It starts from the Catholic impact on rural governance, studies the specific impact on political, cultural and social development under the Catholic in rural governance, explores the fact that how Catholic influenced the rural governance, puts forward concrete counter measures and suggestions to guide the coordinated development of religion and rural governance, aims at providing some beneficial reference to grass-roots level village organizations. In the aspect of political development: this paper studies the Catholic of political development in rural villagers’ autonomy and policy implementation. In terms of cultural development, the four feast days celebrations, marriage and funeral culture and the rural education are discussed in the influence of the Catholic. In terms of social development, the paper mainly studies the social services, social stability and rural construction to illustrate the Catholic and its impact. After the analysis of the influence of these three aspects, the author found that the Catholic has possitive effect on rural governance,but also has negative influence in many ways. We need to see the double-edged sword role of religion, to encourage and support for its positive role and to guide its negative part. The Paper finally puts forward the easures and suggestions to guide the Catholic and the coordinated development of rural governance, strengthen the management of religious affairs in politics, correctly guide religion to service rural politics. In the aspect of culture, lead the cultural development direction is consistent with the socialist core values and make up for the loopholes in rural governance,actively make full use of the advantages of religion in building order in the aspect of social development.
