A Study On The Influence Of Religious Activities On Rural Governance

Rapid development of rural religious brings about a dramatic increase in the number of religious belief since the reform and opening up, religious activities will inevitably have an impact on rural life. This issue has caused extensive attention of the academia, and made a lot of research findings, but few of them are studied from the point of view of rural governance. By taking H-town of Nantong as a case study, collecting first-hand information through social observation, interviews and field research from the point of view of the management and sociology. Analyzing the history and current situation of religious belief, the characteristics and reason of religious spreading and the positioning of the religious organizations in the social structure based on the research of the religious activities of H-town, especially the influence of the religious activities on rural governance and to search for effective strategies to adapt religious activities and rural governance. The basic idea of the writing this article to analyze and discuss mainly in accordance with the law of point-to-face and phenomenon-to-essence.This paper includes six main parts as follows:Part one:It is the introduction of the paper, mainly introduces the background and significance of topic selection, literature review, tracing predecessors’research status, putting forward its own research ideas, theoretical foundations, research methods, the definition of the concept and the object selection and innovation and deficiencies.Part two:The general situation about religious belief of H-town and finding out the characteristics of rapid development of religious, and analyzing the causes of the rapid development of the rural religious from the political reason, social reasons and the characteristics of the religion itself.Part three:It has great significance to give full play to the positive impact of rural governance by religion to draw the position of religious organization in the social structure through the analysis of the relationships between the rural religious organizations and grassroots organizations or between the rural religious organizations and other rural non-governmental organizations.Part four:Analyzing the influence of the religion activities on rural governance of H-town concretely through the questionnaire survey method and interview method. Generally speaking, both positive influence and negative influence and dominant and recessive influence is coexisted.Part five:This part is to propose some suggestions of the promotion of religious activities in rural governance positive effect. We must look for the coordination meeting point of them to guide religious activities coordinated with rural governance and eliminate its negative impact on rural governance. First, a religious system to coordinate the development of rural social should be constructed. Second, the capacity of managing rural religious affairs of rural grassroots organizations should be improved and the cultural environment of the scientific beliefs of the masses of peasants should be recreated. Finally, we need to strengthen the guidance and management of religious philanthropy.Part six:This part is the conclusion part of the paper and it is a summary of the full text.
