The symptom of mobile phone dependence is one of the hot topics in the research of experts all over the world. At present, the research of mobile phone dependence mainly focuses on the current situation, causes and countermeasures. Based on empirical research, this thesis collected a large amount of data. By analyzing factors such as loneliness, social support on college students, the thesis explored the influence of college students’ loneliness and social support on their mobile phone dependence. Besides, the thesis deeply probed into the relationship among all factors so as to provide empirical evidence for mobile phone dependence, provide data support for the qualitative research, and enrich the research achievements in the field of mobile phone dependence.Adopting the method of stratified cluster random sampling, the thesis made a questionnaire survey among 600 undergraduates in various universities in Hunan. The four-part questionnaire includes "personal basic information form", "college students’ mobile phone dependence list", "loneliness list" and "social support list". Based on data collecting, it is found that:(1) College students’ score on mobile phone dependence is54.99 on average, a little below the theoretic average number.College students’ mobile phone dependence has an obvious connection with the college students’ major, grade, hometown, economic conditions, falling in love or not. The investigationshowed that students of science and engineering students who had not been in love or these in low-income families depended on mobile phone the least. But it is neither irrelevant with gender, only children condition, family and marital situation, nor relevant with the state whether they are student cadre or not.(2) The social support to the investigated students including subjective support, objective support and utilization rate of support, which is obvious below the domestic norm(p<0.05), and differs significantly in the grades, majors and falling in love or not family marital conditions of students.(3) College students feel lonely to some degree. Factors the gender, age, major and only child or not, make impact on their loneliness.(4) There is a significant negative correlation between mobile phone dependence and social objective support. The lower objective social support the students obtain, the higher they depend on mobile phone. Further regression analysis showed that objective social support can somewhat predict the college students’ mobile phone dependence to an extent.(5) There is a significant positive correlation between mobile phone dependence and social loneliness. Further regression analysis showed that loneliness can also effectively predict college students’ mobile phone dependence.(6) Through farther analysis on mobile phones dependence and its dimension scores, social support and loneliness for further path, as well as structural equation model analysis,We can see mutual correlation among mobile phone dependence and its dimension scores, social support and loneliness. Among all the factors which affect college students’ mobile phone dependence, proves to exert the greatest influence. Besides direct influence, loneliness may also affect college students’ mobile dependence indirectly through social support. Social subjective support have greater influence on college students’ mobile phone dependence than social objective support.
