The Study Of Identification And Reappear Path Of Canal Water Culture Elements On The Basis Of Gestalt Theory

With thousand kilometers’distance and thousand years’grain shipping, the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal has bred a brilliant culture--which is what we are going to talk--Canal Water Culture. The Grand Canal is one of the most meaningful cultural symbol for Hangzhou, even for China and the whole world. Applying for the World Cultural Heritage provides a great opportunity for protecting the Canal Water Culture, but it will not be the end for protecting. As a "living" and under-using heritages, the Great Canal not just only need to be protected and used, it needs more chances to show, to make people authentically enjoy the Canal Water Culture as well as its charm, to exploit a great future for the Grand Canal. With the arrival of Post-application era, the ways for protecting and inheriting the Grand Canal as well as its culture will be the measurement of Hangzhou’s protection for culture heritage, and it also will reflects the urban cultural taste of Hangzhou.In this article, the Gestalt Psychology is mainly studied, and creatively, it is the theoretical basis of this research. Based on this, this article combine the Canal Water Culture with the concept of space, and extract the principles which is applicable to research the water culture spatial form. With the contemporary technique, this article add the elements of Canal Water Culture into waterfront space along the Grand Canal, and give the new meaning to the spatial form in the conventional sense, and fully mobilize people’s initiative to experience the space, which could lead to people’s identification for the water culture spatial form and refresh their memory of the Canal Water Culture.Based on the mental experience of the users of the Great Canal water culture spatial form, takes the Grand Canal (Hangzhou) for example, this article have a in-deep discussion on Grand Canal water culture element’s "reappear and reconstruction" on the space, and this has practical guidance significance for the construction of Canal Water Culture in Post-application era.
