Both Han Shu and Hou Han Shu have continuity time and similar events and inheritance thought. However, the authors live in different time; have different experiences and pursues different literary arts. Therefore, the ideologies and literature art pursue of them are different too. This article are mainly researching the Xu, Lun and Zan of two books, through comparing the selected objects, reviews and positions to find their different and value thoughts and art style. This article is divided into four parts, three chapters.The introduction are mainly introducing the present situation; analyzing the research object and stating the research significance, focus, difficulty and research methods of Xu, Lun,Zan in these two books.Chapter 1 compares the objects, perspective and position. It is based on the analysis the repeated reading; points out the comment object, which contains the evolution from nobilities and realm to roughshod. Then, analysis and compare the comment perspective and position; state the difference of its purpose and trace; reveal the king order as the emphasis and focus on human and show the changes of history under different cultural background.Chapter 2 compares the thought of two books. It mainly discusses the times of peace and prosperity thought, comment history principle and alchemy orientation. Times of peace and prosperity thought: Ban Gu advocates forgiveness and oppose conquest, while Fan Ye is considerate and flexible, proposes do some adjustment according to the variation of current events. Comment history principle: Han Shu is based on Confucian classic as theoretical; explain the historical events; argument the classical value of Confucianism; while Fan Ye express his purpose in it,convey his view within the classical doctrine. Alchemy orientation: From Ban Gu to Fan Ye has showed the changes from skeptical to verify the authenticity. Although both two books use calamity, prophetic-mixed and auspicious to explain the rise and fall of the national, Han Shu shows the skeptical of the praise of the introduction and destiny decided to personnel of the nature, although not approve object to the deduction of Yin and Yang calamity activity and don’t know why; while fan ye eliminate the false and the true of the praise of destiny and auspicious, affirm the role of individual effort and found the deceptive of prophetic-mixed and religious; put forward that not everyone can grasp the idea of religious; reflect the continuity changes from Dong Han to Nan dynasty.Chapter 3 compares the artistic features of them. It is stating the convey emotion, overall planning and diction. Convey emotion: Han Shu expresses more implicative, so it often uses the function words adverbs adjectives, auxiliary laparoscope, function word and adverb connected to special sentence to express love and hate, and don’t have much rendering; while, Fan Ye is more open, in addition to function words, Hou Han Shu changes more sentence patterns, use of reiterative and lyrical subject of nature to enhance the momentum of prose; convey the strong emotional awareness. Overall planning: Ban Gu is good at summarizing the center arguments; pays attention to the wording of the progressive layers; while Fan Ye is more valued its grand verve, and pays more attention to the wording of logic and maneuvers. Diction : Han Shu uses the form of loose union; applying large number of dual, four words, the sentences are in order; tone is soothing; words are as far as possible elegance, and much more ancient words and it has sense of slash and elegant solemn; while Hou Han Shu pays more attention to the harmonic rhyme of diction; increases more hexagon, couplet and balanced sentence and applies harmonic rhyme to the composition of history under the age.
