| I have been learning Yangqin from Mr. Xiang zuhua for twelve years, impressed by the humanistic spirit and aesthetic insight in his compositions particularly, in author’s opinion, the timbre is the key to master Xiang’s humanistic spirit and aesthetic insight in recreation. This article uses the beautiful timbre as the key point to explore, and selects two dimensions to analyze the beauty, including intrinsic beauty and variational beauty. Firstly, it discusses the natural beauty of Yangqin timbre in theory aspect, means that realizing the physical characteristic of Yangqin, and then utilizes regular operation to combine with normal state of mind to play the intrinsic timbre; Then, variational beauty, means that using expression techniques and hammered string with adaptive mind to express colorful timbre. At last but not least, in the view of actual expression, take six Xiang’s composition as example, i.e. “Suwu Tending Sheepâ€, “Tan Ci San Liuâ€, “Summer Lotusâ€, “Lin Chong Fled at Night†etc, analyzes how to use the “Method of Ambooâ€, “Method of finguresâ€, “Method of Mind†to accurately design, handle, control the timbre, makes the timber serve for people’s emotion to express profound and touching Yangqin compositions. |
