《The Trilogy of Roman》is the representative of Ottorino Respighi.It embodies themultiple artistic characters of the author.The technique of orchestration is one of themost significant characters in his composing.The thesis bases theanalysis,study,summary of the technique on the symphony of《The Trilogy of Roman》to get more knowledge of the composer’s composing features and to get moreenlightenment of the musical composing.As a graduate student,I can learn the technique and style about scoring in hissymphony from this work,based on the study of 《The Trilogy of Roman》.In thiswork,a variety of the technique concerning the orchestration includes:the control oftones,the use of colorful instruments and the change of musical thinking.At the sametime,I also get a lot of skills about orchestration in composition through analysing thiswork carefully,such as the sonorities by using the combination of many differentinstruments、the new playing skills by developing instruments and so on.Consequently,this work is full of many different kinds of auditory colors and weare able to form our own musical style.
