As the Wen Xuan became to be a book, from Sui Tang Dynasty,it causes lots of people’s attention, and the levels of this research is wider and wider. The body types of researches on Wen Xuan in this contemporary has made great achievements, and it preseants a tendency to deeepen and refine. The analysis of the body types on Wen Xuan’s text is a hot spot in contemporary academia, but the reseearches about Wen Xuan’s Preface Body are not easy to see. It mainly has the Chapter ⅩⅢO-Preface in the Studies on the text of Wen Xuan that written by Li Nailong, the Wen Xuan<recorded>’s Preface Research that written by Wang Yuelin, and the discussions on Wen Xuan’s Preface Body which is written by Guo Dianchen and Chen Jinsong, etc. All these studies have income, especially Professor Li Nailong’s. But, about the Preface Body of Wen Xuan has further Discussion space.On the basis of the research results which made by the predecessors and the present age,the essay will be to begin with the text of Wen Xuan’s Preface, by conbining the development of Preface Body and Xiao Tong’s compilation’s thoughts, to explore the selected standards of Preface in Wen Xuan and the problems of Xiao Tong’s’election preface’and’lead preface’in different angles.The essay is divided into three chapters to research. In chapter one, the author will trace the Preface Body to its source, make the observation in its terminology, origin, development and sum up the stylistic characteristics and utility of the Preface Body. This will help analysis Wen Xuan’s selected preface in its development of its total history. In chapter two, from the preface of selections in Wen Xuan to start, firstly, the author will classify and investigate Wen Xuan’s preface’s situation, especially the problems of Bin Xu. Then the author will discuss and analyse the contents of preface by using the methods of classification to try to research the relationships between Wen Xuan’s preface and the preface of other styles’s texts, such as the With Preface in Caozhi’s Shang Ze Gong Ying Zhao Shi Biao, the With Biography in Ren Fang’s Wang Wenxian’s Preface, the With Letter in Liu Yueshi’s Da Lu Chen Poem and so on. The last Chapter, based on the discussion and analysis of preface and combining with Wen Xuan Xu, and to begin with Xiao Tong’s compilation’s thoughts and literary aesthetic standards, so the author will conclude the selected standards in preface of Wen Xuan and attend to analys those unselected famous prefaces by using examples. Preface, it has practical values to input the Wen Xuan, because of its characteristics with literature, Xiao Tong selected preface that he pays more attentions on the relative independence and significance of transformation, and the more important thing is the text’s gracefulness. Xiao Tong chooses the preface that he has a certain standard, so when writing Wen Xuan Xu he quoted the preface to it, the’selection’and the’writting’begins with different angles, selcting preface and lead preface reflects some Xiao Tong’s literary thoughts and literary criticism ideas.
