Huang Yongmei, a novel writer on the background of Guangzhou, has a thought-provoking view on figures of the lowest class individuals. Huang Yongmei’s novels have become a symbol that Lingnan regional literature has achieved new development and from the perspective of times, her novels dominated of the urban literature in the economic transition period. Her words are not just the equivalence about the reality. Instead through individuals’inward world, combing with her own experience and the view of the changing society, she created an world beyond the realistic logic experience that was more closer to the natural truth in people. Her creation is much more to say one of prominent figures of the lowest class individuals from a full-scale view, which means that the she would experience their life and subjective choices of numerous possibilities, and share inner thoughts through imagination. The core image that the author wants to describe is "Lingnan earthly Jianghu". The image of Jianghu comes from the novel of The Arcade. In this paper "Jianghu" is represented by the leading character’s social environment. The author use jianghu to refer to urban city where the lowest class live. On one hand it implies it a different life from that local official has, on the other hand it contains poetic writing method, which readers can easily understand the culture and the fantasy lore from the folk customs. The world of Jianghu is also the human world, and the author focused on the character of the external environment and ethical rules. About the feature Jianghu containing fantasy, the author expressed it based on the poetic dreams inside people’s heart. Therefore, The two main points the author want to say are the environment of Jianghu and people’s dreams, and they are dealt in the background of space and time changes. The coming age of consumption-orientation is the first background of the novel, and the second background is that the description of the people rush into modern city of social changes. The focus of the novel is on people those who have experienced the social and migratory changes. The author mainly center on the relations between the Jianghu environment and inner dreams of people. The first aspect include two points. One is the relationship between individuals and the Jianghu. The environment of Jianghu makes the lowest class individuals more real or on the contrary illusory dreams which have made up their spiritual strength towards lives. The other is that the environment makes their living space become extreme tense, which brings them desperation. The second aspect is the relationship between individuals. Family affection as a spiritual focus of the author, friendships changes and the changing love relationships after ages are all manifested incisively and vividly in the novel. These two types of relations are written from the perspective of living environment and inward world of individuals. They showed exactly what have mentioned that the core issue of the lowest class individuals’spirit destination. The paper starts from the two central points, then through picking out the clue on "survive in Jianghu" to better understand the statement of the novel. The first chapter is to state the motivation and reason of the people in "Jianghu", and the reason why they dream to live in "Jianghu". This part mainly discusses the background of the the lowest class individuals in "Jianghu". For outside survivors’view, these individuals have achieved their dreams when they were in villages, thus can survive in current "Jianghu"society. For the local people, they are the people who lived a satisfying period once, however still keep struggling in the "Jianghu". The second chapter discusses the "the Jianghu of Lingnan" in terms of realistic features what circumstances the lowest class individuals countered. By the rules of consumption-orientation, the paper mainly discusses the features of people relationships and inescapable situations. The lowest individuals’living choices consist of the central discussion in the third chapter. The author describes vividly the inner choices of the lowest class individuals when they faced with the harsh environment of "Jianghu". The lowest class individuals can choose to insist their premier dreams and not to compromise with reality, in other ways they also can compromise with the reality struggling for lives. From the perspective of relationships between characters and rules, we can find that most of them are experiencing to escape backing to the reality. These internal choices and spiritual experience reflect their strong will to life. The last chapter explores two ways the author used in describing the "Jianghu"-those are "escape outside heart" and "the indifferent spirit". The former way refers to the author goes into the inward world of individuals through imagination. The latter way means the author adopted acceptable writing distance about characters’lives to tell readers truth. Both ways show characters’smooth and true heart feelings and moisten people’s heart in the sympathetic and mournful tone. Through the writing of "the earthly Jianghu of Lingnan",the characters and readers can get spiritual comfort and heart warm. All are perfecting the central thesis statement of Huang Yongmei’s novel.
