After the Civil War, the South gradually descends to the edge of the United States and the social economic developed slowly. Until after the reign of Roosevelt, the federal government controls the economic development of the South, then the South began to develop steadily, especially after the Second World War, the southern economy developed rapidly. This shows that the period of Roosevelt administration is a transitional period of the development of the southern United States after the civil war. As far as the Southern agricultural development is concerned, it is reformed from the Roosevelt administration. Based on the Roosevelt administration period, the paper take the federal government intervention as the breakthrough point to make the government intervention and the South’s development of agricultural economy together. Through the analysis of this period government interventions and southern agricultural development status of research, this paper expounds the government intervention to the influence of the southern United States agricultural development at that time.This article is divided into three parts:The first part is introduction, it mainly introduces the research conditions of interrelated thesis among the foreign and domestic scholars and the significance of this article.The second is the mainly three chapter text. The first chapter mainly describes the Southern agricultural development and the problems of the southern agriculture before the Roosevelt administration. The Southern agricultural development can be divided into three stages before the Roosevelt administration: the British colonial period of North America(1607-1789),period before the Civil War(1789-1860), the period from the Civil War to the Great Depression(1860-1929). When Roosevelt came to power, the agriculture of the southern United States has been problematic, mainly including: Since the Civil War, the long-standing tenancy system has many negative effects; The single planting structure; After the 20 th Century, it suffered a huge external shock, including the agricultural crisis in the 20’s and the blow of the great depression.The second chapter first introduces the Roosevelt government implement the theory basis of government intervention, then summarizes the Roosevelt administration of the federal government on the economy of the limited intervention. Finally, tells the Roosevelt government intervention of Southern agricultural development. Mainly from the control production and prices of agricultural products, the establishment and the three aspects: to improve the agricultural credit system and develop the Tennessee River Basin wrote this period of government intervention.The third chapter summarizes the impact of the above intervention policy to the agricultural development in the south of the United States. The positive impact is mainly from the relief of the Southern agricultural crisis, the Southern agricultural economic structure of the shake, the successful regional development of three aspects to elaborate. But this period of government intervention has limitations, the most important is failed to take into account the tenancy farmers interests and discrimination against blacks.The third part is the conclusion, it is the refining of the full text. The article concludes the status of government intervention of Roosevelt administration in the history of agricultural development in the south.
