Guangxi is a mixed habitat for 12 ethnic groups. During the historic development, Guangxi people, together with their diligence and wisdom, have created many tangible heritage as well as a number of intangible heritage, such as folk songs, dances, paper-cut, paintings, sculpture, embroidery, printing and dyeing and many other skills. They used to be very important means of livelihood, and gradually formed a significant shape as part of Guangxi’s traditional culture. However in recent years, along with the progress of the times and rapid development of technology, some of the heritages were not properly inherited and developed due to various subjective and objective reasons; some were even fading out from the stage and are close to extinction. Therefore it is of great importance to get down to the internal and external publicity of the traditional crafts in Guangxi, to generate a deeper understanding from home and abroad about Guangxi’s traditional handicrafts, so to reserve the outstanding culture from dying out.Based on the documentary The Beauty of Guangxi, this report aims at the subtitle translation of Part II of the episode, the Tittle-tattle of Guangxi Countryside, and will provide a detailed description of the task itself, the process monitoring, case analysis and quality control. It is hoped that this translation project and report can help to advance people’s awareness and attention in the protection and inherit of Guangxi traditional handicrafts and other arts.
