| Master of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (MTCSOL) has been developing for almost nine years since its enrollment began in 2007. With the rapid development of China’s comprehensive national power, the language of China becomes to be of great importance in the whole world, and it’s even had a tendency to be the second universal international language after English. According to all kinds of related media reports, it is not difficult to see that an increasing number of foreigners start to study Chinese and try to learn Chinese culture. Considering this situation, led by the Office of Chinese Language Council International, various international education organizations and institutions in china starts to provide opportunities for those kind of foreigners to learn more about china in various ways. These measures, on the one hand, promote the development of Chinese transnational education; on the other hand, they improve the status and influence of MTCSOL as well.With the help of Xinhua News Agency manuscript editing system, this paper is trying to clarify the development vein of MTCSOL and redefine its statue from the perspective of Xinhua News Agency which is the leader and representative of mainstream media in china, and the qualitative analysis is used as the major method in this paper while a quantitative analysis is used as a secondary method. Specifically, this paper’s materials are all based on searching key words about MTCSOL from March.2007 to June.2014 in Xinhua News Agency manuscript editing system, which includes all the related words, pictures, audios and videos. And the conclusion is that MTCSOL has undergone a gradual process from small to large and from weak to strong, firstly. Secondly, whether decision-making departments in our country or ordinary students are paying much attention to it, and MTCSOL becomes a hot issue in the whole world and it continues to thrive. Thirdly, MTCSOL needs continuously attention and devotion from the government to satisfy the tremendously increasing demand of people who eager to learn Mandarin language and Chinese culture worldwide. |
