Interpreting on political issues is one of these most important aspects. It involves formal legal documents and political talks, aiming to introduce China’s social policies.Through such political view, the world could get more understanding of a real China. In this process, political interpreting contributes a lot. The quality of political interpreting could directly affect foreign people’s understanding of China’s policies and national conditions.As a report on consecutive interpreting, the essay analyzes the whole process of interpretation as well as some interpreting strategies. The task involves five parts: brief introduction to the project including its significance and general structure; introduction to the aimed interpreting materials; pre-interpreting preparation and analysis of the case.At last, the reporter gives a conclusion to the whole task. The thesis divides pre-interpreting preparation work into the following parts: the early preparation in background, specialized vocabulary, the speaker’s speaking habits, the middle preparation in the interpreting materials and communication before interpretation. In the chapter of case study, the writer analyzes the interpreting materials in the strategies of interpretation, solutions to the problems, lexical selection and grammar problems.Besides, the report also involves some typical problems in interpreting, such as hesitation, correction and misinterpretation. For the limits of conditions and experiences,this report is a mock interpreting task, the whole process may have some difference from real interpreting practice. Specific preparation in the interpreting environment,interpreter and speaker’s immediate psychology states as well as the facilities will be introduced in the thesis.Through this task, it’s found that pre-interpreting preparations is of great importance to the whole process. Meanwhile, quality evaluation of the interpretation is also very essential. The interpreter would get comprehensively improved if these two parts could be paid more attention to.
